I have a Psion Series 7 in which the battery was allowed to go completely
empty - my fault, as I forgot about it. I have since recharged the battery
a couple of times and fitted a new back-up battery. When I switch on I get
a screen with the text

I must be about the only one left in Psionland... My 5MX died today. I
was using it and the touch screen stopped responding, so I turned it off
and tried to turn it on, but now there is nothing. I've even tried the
keyboard shortcut backup method to see if it would respond, but ...

Until a few minutes ago my 5mx was working fine, but now the touch
screen does not respond. The 5mx runs fine otherwise and the keyboard
works too. But without touch, I cannot switch between programs!
How can I test whether the touch screen has a mechanical fault, or
